{"id":57675,"date":"2016-03-04T07:55:28","date_gmt":"2016-03-04T07:55:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/?p=57675"},"modified":"2016-03-04T07:55:28","modified_gmt":"2016-03-04T07:55:28","slug":"63-cavalry-diamond-jubilee-cycle-expedition-phase-2-flagged-off-for-amritsar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/57675","title":{"rendered":"63 Cavalry Diamond Jubilee Cycle Expedition Phase 2 Flagged Off for Amritsar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-57676\" src=\"https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/PPN0303201602.jpg\" alt=\"PPN0303201602\" width=\"1024\" height=\"471\" srcset=\"https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/PPN0303201602.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/PPN0303201602-300x138.jpg 300w, https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/PPN0303201602-272x125.jpg 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alwar, March 3 (Punjab Post Bureau)- To commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of 63 Cavalry second phase of the Cycle Expedition was flagged off by Lt Gen KJ Singh, General Officer Commanding in-Chief, Western Command\u00a0 from Alwar to its final destination Amritsar.\u00a0 The flagging in of the expedition at Amritsar will be done by Lieutenant Colonel KG Jalnawala (Retd), the senior most veteran of the Regiment on 11 Mar 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 First phase of the Cycle Expedition comprising of one officer, one JCO and 11 other ranks\u00a0 of 5 Independent Armoured Squadron\u00a0 started from Bhuj on 13 Feb 2016, covered a distance of 1200 Kms and reached Alwar on 27 Feb 2016.\u00a0 The team also carried out a camel safari from Sindari to Balotra (Barmer) enroute to Alwar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In its quest, the expedition will traverse through the Thar Desert, Aravalis and plains of Punjab and Haryana with an aim to establish a connect with the Regiment\u2019s veterans to rekindle the glorious past and heritage of the Regiment.
