The first building being constructed by is the JCO Mess of one of the units of the\u00a0<strong>VAJRA Corps<\/strong>. A number of other structures which are being demolished will be constructed in due course of time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The construction of security wall by NHAI is almost 60- 65% complete and work is in progress to complete the remaining portion. The work on expansion of NH-1 is likely to commence soon once the construction of the security wall and guard posts is completed by the NHAI. This will alleviate the problem of traffic congestion at the Rama Mandi Chowk and PAP Chowk. In the last few months the NHAI has been working tirelessly to construct the security wall.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The foundation stone for the reconstruction was laid today by\u00a0Major \u00a0General Sanjiv Bajaj, General Officer Commanding , Jalandhar Sub Area. The Foundation Laying ceremony was attended by a number of important officials including Brigadier RPS Sandhu, Station Commander of Jalandhar Cantonment, Mr Kamal Kishore Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar, Mr Vipin Sharma, Project Director NHAI and many other senior officials.\u00a0It may be recalled that the Army authorities, District civil administration and NHAI have been working in very close coordination to expedite the widening of NH-1 and ensuring\u00a0the security of the Cantonment.\u00a0 Due to the joint effort of all the three agencies, the pace of work has clearly picked up in recent past.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Jalandhar, April 19 (Punjab Post Bureau)-\u00a0 The re-construction of the military assets being demolished due to the expansion of National Highway is being undertaken speedily by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
