More than 60 students of prestigious institutions like DAV Collegiate Sr Sec School participate in the \u201cOn the spot painting competition\u201d on the theme \u201cBiodiversity and Wild life\u201d was organized on the occasion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr Amarjit Singh Soodan, Associate Prof., Dept of Botanical and Environmental Science, GNDU, Amritsar was the chief guest and guest speaker of the day. Dr Rajesh Kumar, Principal of the college presided over the function. Dr soodan delivered a talk on \u201cBiodiversity: The contemporary scenario\u201d. He informed the students about the various aspects of biodiversity. He also informed about the alarming scenario of Punjab biodiversity which is on the verge of depletion at rapid pace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ms Shruti Khanna of DAV International School won the first prize in the painting competition while Kashish Aggarwal &amp; Manpreet Kaur from the same school won the second and third prizes respectively.
