The function commemorated the supreme sacrifice of the brave Brigadier Mohammed Usman, Maha Vir Chakra and his men, who, during the 1947-48 operations, not just prevented the capture of Naoshera Town but in a fierce battle, recaptured the Jhangar area from Pakistan sponsored raiders.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Lieutenant General RR Nimbhorkar, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps who was the Chief Guest on the occasion laid a wreath at the Usman Memorial and thereafter alongwith a large number of civil dignitaries, Army personnel, Police and locals of the area witnessed an scintillating Cultural Programme by the winners of the recently concluded \u201cJhangar Idol\u201d competition. On this momentous occasion, the Chief Guest felicitated Veer Naris, Bal Sainiks, Meritorious Students and highly appreciated the bonhomie between the Army, Civil Administration and the locals of the area. The General Officer also expressed his happiness over the conduct of the Medical, Eye, Artificial Limb Camp, Krishi Mela and interacted with the beneficiaries of these events. More than 1200 locals of Naoshera witnessed this grand function. The Corps Commander also recalled the valiant contribution of the local youth who took active part to assist the Army during 1947-48.
