It is pertinent to mention here that the college has been granted fifth INSPIRE project from the Department of Science &amp; Technology, Government of India, New Delhi.\u00a0 Approximately 224 students from 16 different schools from various districts of Punjab came to participate in the event. Shri J.K Luthra, Member LMC poised the event with his presence in this auspicious occasion. Mr Sandeep Rishi, Chairman Improvement Trust was the chief guest during the event.\u00a0 Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar extended floral welcome to the chief guest. The event started with the lightening of Deepshikha by the all the dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Co-ordinator of the Camp delivered a welcome message and said that Science is extremely important in our daily lives. The objectives of INSPIRE is to provide platform for sharing knowledge, developing creativity and imagination through science and help the students to become better learners and carry on learning science.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While speaking on the occasion, Mr Sandeep Rishi said that such science camps create science centric learning environment among students which helps to enhance scientific temperament among young scientists. Speaking on the occasion Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that it is important to inspire young people to be Science and Technology leaders, so that India can develop as the growth engine of the world. He added that the basic objective of INSPIRE is to attract talent to study science and take it as a carrier. Mr. JK Luthra, Member LMC, also addressed the audience with his words of wisdom. He said that learning leads to inquisitiveness and success.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event hosted a series of lectures in which Dr. Anish Dua, Professor, Dept of zoology, GNDU Amritsar talked about \u201cJourney Ahead in the field of Zoology and Environmental Biology\u201d. He acquainted the students about the field of Zoology. Talking about the concept of Genetics, he said that Genetics can be explored through Molecular makers to know about the genetic differences among populations. He also motivated students to train themselves and unravel the mysteries behind the world of amphibians and reptiles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event moved on with full jest and zeal and with a series of different intellectual sessions by prominent scholars. During the second Lecture, Dr Krishnamoorty Kannan, Professor Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi talked about \u201cThe Changing Landscape of Biotechnology\u201d. He stressed upon meaning and importance of biotechnology. He also explained different phases of biotechnology i.e Classical and Modern to the students.
