<\/b>Amritsar, 24 May (Jagdeep Singh)- A One day Teachers\u2019 Workshop on Enhancement of\u00a0 <\/span>English Language Skills for Std\u00a0 <\/span>VIII was organized by DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar under the aegis of DAV CAE Regional Training Centre\u00a0 <\/span>(Amritsar Zone)\u00a0 <\/span>under DAV Centre of Academic Excellence, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. As many as 25 teachers from\u00a0 <\/span>GND DAV Public School, Bhikhiwind , MKD DAV Public School, Attari, DAV International School, Police DAV Public and DAV Public School of Amritsar Zone participated in the workshop. Ms. Anita Chawla and Mrs. Anju Gupta from English faculty of DAV Public School were the Resource Persons. The workshop dealt with the role of English teachers in developing language skills and enhancement of learning under congenial atmosphere. The resource persons stressed on the importance of knowledge of all the skills in learning of English. The students should be trained from the junior classes itself in language skills. They also talked about the role of encouraging and positive environment in enhancing learning and showed a power point presentation with a few case studies. It was an interactive session in which the teachers participated actively. Many activities were performed during the workshop which can be used by teachers to make their teaching effective . In the end , the queries\u00a0 <\/span>of the teachers were taken up by the Resource Persons and the teachers discussed their experiences while teaching in the class. The workshop was a success as many new ideas and innovative ways to enhance the language skills were developed. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school thanked the resource persons and all the participants for being a part of the workshop. She said that learning\u00a0 <\/span>of language is a continuous\u00a0 <\/span>process. . So the language curriculum needs to be enhanced from time to time. She was pleased at the overwhelming participation from various DAV Schools from Amritsar Zone. Regional Director (Amritsar Zone ) Dr. (Mrs) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women , Lawrence Road , Amritsar and the Manager of the school Dr. K.N.\u00a0 <\/span>Kaul applauded the school for organizing the workshop.
