The theme for this year is : Ozone and Climate :\u00a0 Restored by a World United . The students expressed their views on the destruction caused to the Ozone layer due to the callous attitude of the people towards mother nature. They recited\u00a0 poems and raised slogans to stop all such\u00a0 activities that cause depletion of the ozone layer. Ozone layer is a fragile shield of gas which protects the Earth from the harmful portion of the rays of the Sun ,\u00a0 thus helping preserve life on the planet. They stressed that there was an urgent need to curb and control the use of ozone depleting substances and pollution causing activities so that no\u00a0 further harm is done to it. They pledged to work in unison and join hands to protect mother nature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regional Director, Punjab Zone \u2013 A , Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam\u00a0 Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate in their message said that collective efforts can contribute significantly in the preservation of environment . They added that tree plantation is the first step towards this and every student must adopt this.
