Mahatma Gandhi\u00a0 is remembered all over the world for peace and truth . He played a major role in the freedom struggle of India. The students of the school prepared a special assembly to pay homage to this\u00a0 apostle of peace and supporter of non \u2013 violent movement . A short one act play was performed portraying the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The students also paid homage to Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri who gave the slogan \u2018Jai Jawan Jai Kisan\u2019 and worked for the upliftment of the common man. He was a simple and soft spoken man who became the symbol of India\u2019s valor and self respect . The students sang patriotic songs and hymns to pay tribute to the great leaders. In the end they took a pledge to march ahead on a progressive path imbibing the value of \u2018ahimsa\u2019. Regional Director Punjab Zone A\u00a0 Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr.Rajesh Kumar\u00a0 sent their best wishes on this occasion. They asked the students\u00a0 to remember the great souls and their contribution towards their country. They also\u00a0 added that the philosophy of Gandhi ji\u00a0 must be incorporated in the education system and students must be encouraged to adopt simple living like Gandhi ji. Dr.Neera Sharma Principal of the school while addressing the students said that Gandhi ji is an idol of humanity and we must follow the path of truth and wisdom to pay homage to the Father of the Nation .
