He was appointed following rigorous interview by the panel of Selection Committee, having experts from Guru Nanak Dev University and DPI, Punjab Government. He will replace outgoing Principal Dr.Daljit Singh who had retired in March and was working on the post `till further order\u2019. Dr.Mehal Singh, an Ph.D. and MA Punjabi,\u00a0\u00a0has 16 years of long working experience as Principal and presently he is posted as Principal, Guru Nanak Dev University College, Verka with additional charge of the Patti College of the varsity. He has served as Principal of Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Sarhali and will be shortly joining the new post after completing the formalities of his present post. KCGC President Sardar Satyajit Singh Majithia and honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina congratulated the new Principal and said they hope he will work to the best of his abilities to take the historic college to the new heights. Dr.Mehal thanked the management and selection committee for imposing faith in him and said he was feeling proud to head the 122 years old premium educational institution of entire north India.
