Prof. Paramjit Kaur, Deptt. of Chemistry was the Chief Guest. Prof. Kaur in her valedictory address felicitated the participants on achievement of another milestone in their academic career. Exhorting them to incorporate the pedagogical skills acquired during the Programme in their classroom teaching, she highlighted the significant contribution being made by such Programmes in updating the skills of the teachers working in the field of higher education. Instead of confining themselves to the classroom teaching only, they need to establish a personal rapport with the students, she stressed. Differentiating the teaching profession from the other professions, she highlighted the fact that the destiny of the younger generation of any nation is primarily decided by the teachers. She concluded here address by labelling the learning as a lifelong phenomenon.<\/p>\n
Prof. Kamaljit Singh, Director, UGC-Human Resource Development Centre expressed his profound pleasure over the successful completion of the Programme and felicitated the participants on this occasion. He hoped that the aspirations of the participants must have been definitely fulfilled to a great extent with the interactions of Resource Persons pertaining to a diversity of disciplines during this Programme. Talking about the challenges confronting the higher education in the country in the present scenario, he rued the fact that adhocism has become a norm rather than an exception in the higher education as well, which is adversely affecting the quality of education. He also shed light on urgent need of introducing e-learning resources in education.<\/p>\n
The participants of the Programme profusely thanked the entire team of the HRDC for this endeavour and make some fruitful suggestions as well.\u00a0\u00a0Earlier the Chief Guest was accorded a floral welcome by Prof. Kamaljit Singh & Dr. Mohan Kumar.
