Whereas a notification under sub-section\u00a0(1)\u00a0of section 4 of the Presidential and<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-85865 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Votes1.jpg\" alt=\"ID:46288237\" width=\"353\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Votes1.jpg 353w, https:\/\/punjabpost.in\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Votes1-300x261.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 353px) 100vw, 353px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vice-Presidential Elections\u00a0Act, 1952, for the holding of an election to fill the Office of President of India has been issued by the Election Commission, the Returning Officer for such election,\u00a0Secretary General, Lok Sabha\u00a0has issued the notice that\u2014<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0(i)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any one of\u00a0his proposers or seconders to the undersigned at his office in Room No.\u00a018, Ground Floor, Parliament House, New Delhi, or if\u00a0he is unavoidably absent, to the Assistant Returning Officers, Shri Ravindra Garimella, Joint Secretary or Shri Vinay Kumar Mohan, Director, Lok Sabha Secretariat, at the said office between 11 A.M.\u00a0and 3 P.M.\u00a0on any day\u00a0(other than a public holiday)\u00a0not later than the 28<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June, 2017;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(ii)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0each nomination paper shall be accompanied by a certified copy of the entry relating to the candidate in the electoral roll for the Parliamentary constituency in which the candidate is registered as an elector;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(iii)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0every candidate shall deposit or cause to be deposited a sum of rupees fifteen thousand only.\u00a0This amount may be deposited in cash with the Returning Officer at the time of presentation of the nomination paper or deposited earlier in the Reserve Bank of India or in a Government Treasury and in the latter case a receipt showing that the said deposit of the sum has been so made is required to be enclosed with the nomination paper;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(iv)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0forms of nomination papers may be obtained from the above said office at the times aforesaid;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(v)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the nomination papers, other than those rejected under sub-section\u00a0(4)\u00a0of section 5B of the Act, will be taken up for scrutiny at the said office in Room No.\u00a018, Ground Floor, Parliament House, New Delhi on 29<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June, 2017, at 11 A.M.;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(vi)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the notice of withdrawal of candidatures may be delivered by a candidate, or any one of his proposers or seconders who has been authorized in this behalf in writing by the candidate, to the undersigned at the place specified in paragraph\u00a0(i)\u00a0above before three o&#8217;clock in the afternoon of 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0July, 2017;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(vii)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on 17<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0July, 2017 between the hours of 10 A.M.\u00a0and 5 P.M.\u00a0at the places of polling fixed under the rules.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<td width=\"328\">\u00a0\u00a0<u>Returning Officer<\/u><\/td>\n<td width=\"300\">Anoop Mishra<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<td width=\"328\">New Delhi<\/td>\n<td width=\"300\">Returning Officer\u00a0For Election To The Office Of President Of India, 2017<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"328\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Date: 14<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June, 2017<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"300\">(Secretary General, Lok Sabha)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi, June 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) &#8211;
