He said so far the larger attention was on boys\u2019 team but they would promote girls teams too. He said this while inaugurating the year long sports session under which the sports of various categories would be in focus. Dr. Mehal Singh along with senior Professors from department of physical education including Dr. Daljit Singh also inaugurated the first friendly match of the cricket at the College\u2019s picturesque cricket ground and said the teams of Athletics, Hockey, Basketball, Handball, Kabaddi, Swimming, Boxing, water sports, Archery teams would be undergoing training throughout the year to compete in inter-college, inter-university, national and international tournaments. Dr. Mehal Singh thanked Khalsa College Governing Council, especially honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina for support for the promotion of sports on the campus.
