New Delhi, March 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Taking cognizance of the advisories issued by various government
departments regarding corona virus covid-19, Ministry of External Affairs and Passport Office Amritsar have also taken precautionary measures and also advised advised the applicant to follow some precautionary measures.
- All applicants are advised to visit PSK/POPSK in only extreme circumstances where travel is necessary in future otherwise reschedule their appointments on or after 1st April 2020.
- It is observed in the last three days that the number of minor applicants has increased due to holidays in school/colleges thereby creating huge rush as minor applicant is accompanied by parents. In order to reduce the rush, minor and senior citizens are requested to postpone their appointment.
- The condition of rescheduling an appointment for maximum three times has been waived off. Now an applicant can reschedule his appointment as many times during the year. Ministry of External Affairs is also in the process to give option to applicants to schedule their appointments in the next 90 days.
- Applicants are requested to carry sanitizers with them.
- All applicants should sterilise/wash their hands with soap before entering and after leaving the PSK/POPSK and after finger print scanning also.
- The staff at PSK/POPSK has been instructed to clean fingerprint scanners with alcohol swab after each applicant.
- Applicants are advised to carry a handkerchief with them in PSK/POPSK so as to use it while coughing.
- All the staff at the PSK/POPSK has been provided with mask, sanitizers and gloves.
- Although instructions have been issued for frequent cleaning of all public areas including counters, Door handles Lift knobs, Instruments and equipment with high quality chemicals for making them Virus infection free, yet applicants are advised to avoid touching any hard surface.
- No applicant in RPO Office, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar is allowed for his enquiry application. During processing of files if it is felt necessary, officials of Passport Office will call the applicant for clarification.
