Amritsar, March 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In order to take preventive and remedial measures for combating the
impending threat of COVID-19 and on the instructions issued by the Hon’ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana Chandigarh this office has taken several measures with regard to precautionary measures in wake of pandemic due to outbreak of Novel Coronavirs (COVID-1 9). All the Judicial Officers have been instructed to take up only bail matters and matters requiring urgent stay/injunction, till further orders. Officers have also been instructed to consider exemption applications sympathetically and to avoid the crowding in their respective court room(s) while avoiding passing of adverse/default orders. The officers have also been directed to utilize the facility of video conference for under-trail prisoners, thereby avoiding human contact.
Proper measures have been adopted in order to ensure the cleanliness/sanitization in the court premises. Necessary directions have been issued to the staff to ensure the cleanliness of their surroundings. Adequate material including sanitizers, masks have been provided to the officials. Fogging on regular basis is being carried out in the court complex and its surrounding. Adequate medical officers/staff have been deputed alongwith thermal scanners to test general public including advocates, staff official etc., entering into the court premises on regular basis. The District Health officer has also been directed to sanitize the entire court complex, on daily basis so as to avoid the outbreak of such virus in the area, where there is a great rush of people/litigants.
This office had also made a rotation arrangement of the officials of this Sessions Division in order to reduce the foot fall in the court premises, in such a manner that at least 50% of the official of the respective courts shall attend the duties ensuring that the work of the court does not suffer in any manners.
