Film actor Jaspal’s life tragedy based film ‘Yeh Yaad Mere Armanon Ki’ released

Rajendra Jaspal is classmate of Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri

Patiala, July 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In a programe orgenise at Patiala (Punjab) the documentary film ‘Yeh Yaad Mere Armano Ki’ based on the life tragedy of Punjabi film actor Rajendra Jaspal  was released by Major Adrashpal  Singh, great grandson of  Punjabi scholar Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha. Clasmat of Naseeruddin and Ompuri at NSD Delhi & FTII Pune, Rajendra Jaspal, who played the role of  Samita Patil’s husband in Shyam  Benegal’s film ‘Manthan’, fled the film industry in Mumbai after stabbing his friend Naseeruddin Shah.

               Released on YouTube under the banner of Music- Care, the writer and producer of the film is Dr. Jagmail Bhathuan  and Dr. Ravinder Kaur Ravi, Music by  Ishant Pandit and director is Ravinder Ravi Samana. Naseeruddin, in his autobiography ‘And Then One Day’ written in English, recounts bittersweet memories of Jaspal . Naseer saying that he was saved by Om Puri when Jaspal attacked me in Mumbai.

                On this occasion, Punjabi writer ‘Dr. Jagmail bhathuan  said that Jaspal left his bank job in Patiala in the sixties and started his acting career with the famous playwright Harpal Tiwana’s drama group ‘Punjab Kala Manch’. He said that the main purpose of making this film was to reconnect a well-known anonymous artist from Punjab with the art world.

              Apart from Major AP Singh, film actor Rajendra Jaspal, Ravinder Ravi Samana, Dr. Jagmail Bhathuan, Anchor Emanpreet  and Dr. Ravinder Kaur Ravi were present on the occasion.
