Amritsar, September 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Dr. Pushpinder Walia Principal BBK DAV College Women has been 
appointed as Manager of DAV Public School Lawrence Road and in so doing, assumed dual responsibilities. On this occasion a Havan Yajna was performed. Dr. Walia expressed her gratitude to God as well as to Padma Shri Awardee Dr. Punam Suri, President, DAVCMC New Delhi and Chairman of DAV Public School. She also thanked J.P Shoor Director (Schools) DAVCMC and Dr. Neelam Kamra, Regional Officer (Schools), Amritsar Zone.
It is worth mentioning that DAV Public School is among the top ranking educational institutions; there are two branches of DAV Public School in the cit DAV Lawrence Road and Amritsar Cantt. Imparting education to about 7000 students D.A.V Public School is renowned for excellent performance in academics as well as sports and cultural events.
It is pertinent to note that Dr. Pushpinder Walia Sharma had also been the Principal of DAV College Ferozpur from 2009 to 2015. Under her adept mentorship the college progressed by leaps and bounds in every field. On 31st December 2015 she joined as the Principal of BBK DAV College an acclaimed women’s institution of Amritsar and under her sagacious leadership, BBK has bagged numerous UGC projects and grants. The College has won overall championships of GNDU in Sports and Youth festival. She has been twice appointed President of Women Sports Committee. Even during the global pandemic, the college continued to discharge its duties efficaciously. Besides imparting online education, the college is continuously active in community outreach programmes as well as projects/events connected to Arya Samaj.
