GNDU started Short Term Courses in Drug and Pollution Testing Laboratory

Amritsar, October 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Today short term courses are like career-boosting opportunities for students. These courses help students in enhancing their skills and acquire more knowledge on their interested topics and core subjects. In a way, it helps the students in gaining more information, different perspectives and an in-depth understanding of the vital subjects or topics which a student is willing to know more about. Adding further, in the present market scenario the competition among the students and the expectations of the students for getting placed in a prominent company with a good salary package is the most common and known fact. In this process of career-building students are trying hard and putting in all their efforts to add value and make their CV strong.

        Dr. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi Coordinator Drug & Pollution Testing Laboratory informed that that a large number of students passing the Intermediate examination this year as well as some professionals were making enquiries about the short courses. On the demand of students, DPTL started short term training programs such as Water & Waste water analysis, Air Monitoring and Analysis and Instrumental Methods of Analysis.

            Dr. Bedi further informed that Drug and Pollution Testing Lab (DPTL) was established as per the decision taken by Syndicate. It was set up for providing a very wide range of testing services independently. DPTL has the main objective of having a central facility in the Guru Nanak Dev University Campus to carry out high end testing, consultancy & research. In addition to research programs, it was envisaged to have state of the art testing & characterization facility to cater to the high end testing needs of the industrial organization as well as educational institutes of the region.

           Dr. Bedi said that these courses are designed to aid in understanding the operation, daily working, analysis, calibration, troubleshooting and software handling.  On-site training programs may also be offered as per specific requirement. University will provide a certificate after evaluation of the performance of each participant in every module.
