More than 67000 senior citizens covered
Kapurthala, April 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Covid vaccinations in Kapurthala district has almost reached to 1 lakh. A ccording to the data collected till 29 April 98664 people have been vaccinated against covid .
Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Umpal said that while all the government hospitals and primary health centers doing covid vaccination, it was also carried out at the health wellness centers for the convenience of the people.
During the entire vaccination campaign, special attention was given to cover the senior citizens who fall in the highest risk category, as a result of which 67432 people have been vaccinated till April 29.
District Immunization Officer Dr. Randeep Singh said that during the immunization special teams are being set up in Gurdwaras, temples, big villages and city wards. In addition, elected representatives, religious and social leaders have been urged to cooperate to motivate the people for vaccination so that more people can be vaccinated.
Deputy Commissioner also said that from May 1, preparations have been made for immunization in the age group of 18 to 45 years to prevent the second wave of corona. She said that as many people as possible should register for the vaccination, which will be available on the online Covin and Arogya Setu app.
