Amritsar, May 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Continuing its endeavours under the Congress mission ‘Farz Manukhta Layi’ to provide succor to people during COVID, NSUI Punjab led by state President Akshay Sharma on Saturday distributed 250 bags of Atta amongst the needy in Amritsar slum areas.
We will be stepping up with another 500 bags to be distributed by Monday, shared Akshay Sharma who only last Friday had donated a hi-tech fleet of across city 15 ambulances lassed with oxygen cylinders, masks, gloves and PPE kits, adding that this was being done under the directions and guidance of state Congress president Sunil Jakhar.
Our state president has asked us to reach out to masses reeling under the devestating impact of COVID wave by ensuring them food and other necessities. We have formed teams to carry out help work in slums so no-one sleeps hungry.
Pertinently Akshay Sharma had last Friday launched hi-tech fleet of 15 ambulances lassed with oxygen cylinders, masks, gloves and PPE kits, in fight against COVID 19. The free 24*7 service has been major source of succour for families bearing the brunt of pandemic and unreasonably higher fares being charged by private ambulance operators in the city.
