SGPC starts Free Covid Vaccination Camp at Sri Harmandar Sahib Complex

Camps to be started at Takhts in the next phase – Bibi Jagir Kaur

Amritsar, May 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – SGPC started ‘Free Covid Vaccination Camp’ outside Sri Harmandar Sahib at plaza in front of Information Center. It was jointly inaugurated by SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and Shiromani Akal Dal (B) president Sukhbir Singh Badal.

                      After spending about Rs. 53 lakh, SGPC has arranged 5000 doses of Covaxin for this camp, which will be administered to the people free-of-cost.

                       SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal said this initiative of SGPC is more significant when people are facing problems in getting vaccinated and “there is no proper arrangement for vaccines by the Punjab government”, said Sukhbir.

                       Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “The representative body of the Sikh Panth, SGPC is with the people during this Covid-19 pandemic and it will continue to work for human welfare in the light of the principles of the Gurus.”

                        “SGPC has so far set up nine Covid Care Centres at various places in Punjab, from where about 900 patients have been cured. Now the SGPC has started Covid vaccine camps. Arrangements will also be made to start the vaccination camps at Takht Sahibs after the camp at Sri Darbar Sahib. SGPC had been administering free vaccines at Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College from day one and efforts would be made to order more vaccines in the coming days.” Bibi Jagir Kaur thanked SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal for his support in arranging the vaccine.

                           SGPC senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad, junior vice-president Baba Buta Singh, general secretary Bhagwant Singh Sialka, chief secretary Harjinder Singh Dhami, executive committee members Satwinder Singh Tohra, Ajmer Singh Khera, Harbhajan Singh Masanan, Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, and several members and officials were also present. People who got inoculated thanked the SGPC.
