Sri Akhand Path Sahib started to commemorate June 1984 Ghalughara

Amritsar, June 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Sri Akhand Path Sahib started today to mark the annual martyrdom ceremony on June 6, to offer homage and respect to the martyrs including Sikh men, women, and children, who got martyred during the military attack by the Congress government of India on Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib and Sri Akal Takht Sahib in June 1984. SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur, general secretary Bhagwant Singh Sialka, member Bhai Manjit Singh Bhurakohna and prominent personalities were present.

                   The ardas (prayer) was offered by Bhai Sukhdev Singh and additional head granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Bhai Malkit Singh recited the holy hukamnama for sangat (devotees).

                     SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that Shaheedi Samagam with regards to June 1984 ghallughara will be marked on June 6. Dedicated to this occasion Sri Akhand Path Sahib has been started today. It is a very serious and emotional week in which the sentiments of the entire Sikh qaum (community) are of suffering. I appeal to the sangat to pay homage and respect to the martyrs keeping in view the sanctity and sensitivity of Ghallughara Day on June 6.”

                   SGPC additional secretaries Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna, Pratap Singh, Sukhminder Singh, assistant secretaries Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Sakatar Singh, Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Sulakhan Singh Bhangali, Gurmeet Singh Buttar, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, OSDs to SGPC president Dr. Amrik Singh and Dr. Sukhbir Singh, manager Baghel Singh, Narinder Singh, Jaspal Singh Dhade, Darshan Singh, federation leader Kanwarcharhat Singh and others were present.
