Amritsar, June 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Dharam Prachar Committee of SGPC every year conducts Dharmik Prikhya (religious examination) among students studying in different schools and colleges in the entire country. About 50000 students participated in the religious examination conducted during the annual session of 2019-20.
In a press release issued from the SGPC office publicity department assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas said a that total of 990 students who appeared in the religious examination secured scholarships in the categories including first (Class VIII & IX), second (Class XI & XII), third (Graduate) and fourth (Postgraduate). Also, a total of 17 students have secured first, second and third positions with excellent performance in these categories.
SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur will distribute scholarships on June 17 in an event to to be held at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall Sri Amritsar, said Mr. Ramda. Merit students will get Rs.5100, Rs.4100, and Rs.3000 respectively and would be honoured with mementoes and principals and teachers of religious studies of winner school and colleges would also be honoured.
In all four categories, the students except the meritorious ones, who secured more than 70% marks, would be distributed scholarships of Rs.1100, Rs.2100, Rs.3100 and Rs.4100 to boost their confidence.
