Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh commends SGPC’s services
Sri Anandpur Sahib, June 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee started Free Covid Vaccination Camp at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Sri Anandpur Sahib. Free COVID-19 vaccination centre was jointly inaugurated by SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh.
SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the SGPC is the representative religious body of the Sikh Panth, which has done work of welfare for humanity during COVID-19 pandemic in the light of principles of the Sikhs Gurus. Apart from designating Sri Guru Ramdas Hospital in Sri Amritsar for Covid patients SGPC has set up Covid Care Centres in different areas of Punjab.
“Apart from this, arrangements have been made to administer Covid vaccine at Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College, Sri Amritsar under the free vaccination drive. Under the expansion of this drive, after free vaccine camps at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, the arrangements are also made to administer Covid vaccine at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
Appreciating the services of SGPC Jathedar Raghbir Singh said, “These services of SGPC have increased the reputation of the Sikh Community during a contagious pandemic. I appeal to the Sikh community to fully support the SGPC’s humanitarian cause.”
SGPC executive committee member Ajmer Singh Khera, member Bhai Amarjit Singh Chawla, Jagsir Singh Mangeana, Gurpreet Singh Jhabbar, Charanjit Singh Kalewal, Mohan Singh Bangi, principal Surinder Singh, OSD to SGPC president Dr. Sukhbir Singh, manager Malkit Singh, additional manager Hardev Singh were also present.
Meanwhile, a function was also held at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal Bhora Sahib on the occasion of Foundation Day of Sri Anandpur Sahib. On this occasion hazuri ragi jathas of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib recited Gurbani kirtan. SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh addressed the Sangat.
