GNDU ranked at 8th  among Engineering Higher Education Institution

Amritsar, September 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – GNDU has emerged as the only multi-speciality university in Punjab and its neighbouring states that has obtained position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2021. Contesting for the first time in the engineering discipline, it is ranked at 8th position among the multi-speciality universities of the country. State-of-the-art infrastructure, dedicated teaching-learning practices, curriculum enrichment, high employability, quality publications in highly cited national and international research journals are the key concerns to popularise GNDU’s engineering education not only in India but across the world.

            High quality research in engineering and other disciplines has improved the H-index of the university from 64 to 115 with top 10 percent highly cited papers in Scopus. Its successful engineering graduates have brought laurels for the university in India and in many parts of the world. In spite of the financial shortfalls, as compared to central and private universities, the university has been making high strides in itsteaching-learning resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, peer perception, etc. in the engineering disciplines. Special attention is being paid to augment the existing infrastructure and to introduce the advanced technologies to facilitation the students, researchers and the faculty to boost high quality education and research. Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh, while congratulating the engineering departments of the university, has appreciated the tireless efforts of the faculty and staff to impart quality education and research in engineering. He stressed that the university will make more efforts to further improve the quality of the academics and research in different academic disciplines in the coming years.
