SGPC to open super speciality hospital in the name of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji at Jalandhar

Hospital is dedicated to 487th Prakash Gurpurab of fourth Guru

Amritsar, October 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur has announced to open a super specialty hospital in Jalandhar which will be equipped with facilities of all level, on the occasion of the Prakash Gurpurab (birth anniversary) Sri Guru Ramdas Ji, the founder of Amritsar city. Sharing the outline of the ceremonies in connection with the Prakash Gurpurab of the fourth Guru being celebrated on October 22, the SGPC President said that a hospital with best health facilities would be opened in Jalandhar dedicated to the Prakash Gurpurb of the fourth Guru Sahib.

                “A devotee of Guru’s house Joginder Singh has donated 26 kanals of land for developing a hospital and the construction of the hospital will begin soon”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

             She also informed that the dispensary of cheap medicines near the Information Center outside the Sri Darbar Sahib has been almost completed by the SGPC, which would be dedicated to the 487th Prakash Purb of the fourth Guru Sahib and dedicated to the Sangat soon. At the same time, she announced the commissioning of a large hospital developed in the past at Tarn Taran.

                 Bibi Jagir Kaur said that Prakash Purab will be celebrated on October 22 and the nagar kirtan to be decorated on October 21. Nagar Kirtan will start from Sri Akal Takht Sahib and pass through the outer gates of the old city and end at Sri Darbar Sahib. Raag Darbar and Padtal Shabad Gayan Kirtan Samagam would be organized on the night of October 21. On the day of Prakash Gurpurb on October 22, Jalau (grandeur) will be decorated at Sri Harmandar Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib and grand event will be held at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. On this occasion, beautiful lighting with earthen lamps and fireworks will be done at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib and other Gurdwaras dedicated to Gurpurab.

                 Bibi Jagir Kaur informed that a series of Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) has been going on in various Gurdwara Sahib in the city since September 16 in connection with Prakash Gurpurb and various religious competitions have also been conducted for the school children. The first place winners during the competitions will be honored on the day of Gurpurb.

                  On this occasion SGPC additional secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna, assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Simarjit Singh Kang, Tejinder Singh Padda, OSDs to SGPC president Dr. Amrik Singh Latifpur, Dr. Sukhbir Singh, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, In-charge Karaj Singh and others were present.
