Guru Ram Das’s 487th `Gurpurab’ celebrated at Khalsa College Campus

Amritsar, October 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The 487th `Gurpurab’ of Sri Guru Ram Das, Sikhs’ fourth Guru and founder of Amritsar was celebrated with religious fervor and devotion at Khalsa College campus here today. The prayers and recitals of the hymns from Gurbani were witnessed at College Gurdwara which was tastefully decorated with buntings.

              The students of Khalsa College Senior Secondary School performed Kirtan following Bhog of Sri Akhand Path and Dr. Inderjit Singh Gagoani, shed light on the life, philosophy and directives of the Guru. The students recited the Gurbani and Shabad in praise of Guru Ram Das ji who founded Amritsar.

            Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina sent his message of congratulations to whole of the Sangat on the occasion and asked one and all to follow the righteous path shown by the revered Guru. KCGC joint secretary Ajmer Singh Heir along with Principal Dr. Mehal Singh bestowed Siropas on the students performing Kirtan.

               The historic building of Khalsa College was also decorated with lighting and the premises were full of festivity for the Gurpurab celebrations. KCGC Members Paramjit Singh Bal, Lakhwinder Singh Dhillon, Sarbjit Singh Cheecha, Principals including Dr.Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Surinder Kaur, Principal Surindepal Kaur Dhillon, Principal Dr. HB Singh, Dr. RK Dhawan, Nanak Singh, Dr. Jaspal Singh, Dr. Kamaljit Singh, AS Gill, Nirmaljit Kaur were present on the occasion.
