Gurmat Samagam at Noorpur, Uttar Pradesh dedicated to 400th Parkash Purb of Guru Teg Bahadar Ji

Amritsar, November 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A special Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) dedicated to 400th Parkash Purb (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji was today organised at Noorpur town in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh in association with the Sangat (community).

                   Prominent personalities including Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Bibi Jagir Kaur and general secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka also attended the event.

                    Addressing the congregation organised by Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Noorpur at Khalsa Inter College Noorpur, SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur announced that great efforts would be made to intensify flourishing the Sikh faith in Uttar Pradesh.

                    “More pracharaks (preachers), dhadis (balladeers) and kavishar (poet) jathas (groups) would be sent to UP Sikh Mission Hapur to expand it. There is a great need to propagate the ideology of the Gurus among the younger generation as the big responsibilities of the Qaum (community) lies on the future generation. SGPC is already working for flourishing the Sikh faith through the Sikh Mission in Uttar Pradesh. For intensifying this, Gurmat Samagams will be conducted in different cities under the Ghar Ghar Andar Dharamsaal (sacred shrine within every home). Amrit Sanchar Samagam will be held and religious literature will be distributed on a large scale”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

                 SGPC general secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka shared his views with the Sangat and apprised them of the work being done by the SGPC.

                      “All efforts are being made by the SGPC for the flourishing the Sikh faith and every Sikh should be a supporter of the Dharam Prachar campaign launched by the Sikh”, said Sialka.

                 During the function special honours were presented to SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur and general secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka by the local Sangat.

                 The Gurmat Samagam was attended by a large number of Sangat including all Singh Sabhas, Sabha Societies, Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees and Panthic organizations of the area.

               Pracharak jathas led by Bhai Brijpal Singh, in-charge of Sikh Mission, Hapur, UP, encouraged the Sangat for the success of the event.

                 On this occasion OSD to SGPC President Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur, S. Surinder Singh Samana in-charge Delhi Sikh Mission, pracharak Bhai Karam Singh, S. Rajinder Singh Prince, S. Harbhajan Singh, S. Gurnam Singh, S. Sanju Singh, S. Virinder Singh, S. Karamjit Singh Noor, S. Darshan Singh, S. Brahmjot Singh, S. Ravinder Singh and a large number of Sangat were present.
