Amritsar, December 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – During the meeting of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s (SGPC’s) Executive Committee (EC) convened today, the rights have been given to SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami to nominate a new member in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) on behalf of the SGPC.
The first meeting of the SGPC’s EC was called specially under the leadership of Harjinder Singh.
Talking to the media reporters after the meeting, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that one member is nominated by the SGPC in the DSGMC and similarly, members are nominated for Takht Sri Harmandar Ji Patna Sahib and Takht Sri Abchalnagar Hazur Sahib, Nanded.
“On August 23, 2021, SGPC has nominated Manjinder Singh Sirsa’s name as its member to DSGMC, but due to cancellation of his membership by the Director Gurdwara Election, a new name will be sent”, said Harbinger Singh.
He said that rights in this regard have been handed over to him by the SGPC’s EC and the nomination of DSGMC member would be made soon.
Speaking about the Delhi court framing murder charges against Sajjan Kumar, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami said, “Imposition of charges against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, an accused in the Delhi Sikh genocide case, in connection with the murder of two Sikhs in Delhi’s Raj Nagar is a matter of consolation for the Sikh familie Apart from Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, many other leaders including Jagdish Tytler were also involved in the Sikh genocide and every culprit should be severely punished.”
SGPC President said, “The Congress party was the enemy of the Sikhs and it is very unfortunate that even today the perpetrators of the Sikh genocide are being rewarded by the Congress with high positions.”
Replying to a query, Harjinder Singh Dhami slammed the government’s advertisements on the big screens on the heritage street to Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib.
“The screens on the heritage street were installed on this route during the Akali government to broadcast Gurbani. But the Congress government of Punjab is using them for its own interests, which is hurting the minds of the pilgrims. The government should stop its publicity on these screens and immediately start Gurbani Kirtan there.”
