Amritsar, January 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road celebrated 73rd Republic Day with
full enthusiasm keeping in mind all the safety norms. The teachers of the school paid rich tribute to the freedom fighters and great leaders of the country. On this day in 1950 India was declared as a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic. The teachers sang patriotic song and recited poems highlighting the selfless sacrifices that led us to breathe in free India. They also informed about the importance of this day, how long debates, discussions and lot of research led into the making of our constitution.
On this occasion everyone resolved to contribute their bit in eradicating the darkness of ignorance, corruption, hatred and other evils and make the country o shining glory. The assemblies concluded while the rendition of the National Anthem.
Regional Officer Punjab Zone A Dr. Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Pushpinder Walia sent their best wishes to the teachers and students on this occasion and asked them to salute the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and leaders who fought to attain freedom and make India a sovereign state.
Mrs. Anita Mehra, Principal of the school, in her address highlighted the significance of the day and urged that everyone should abide by the constitution of their motherland and fulfill all his duties as a responsible citizen.
