GNDU Dept. of Hotel Management and Tourism organises induction ceremony

Amritsar, August 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Department of Hotel Management and Tourism of Guru Nanak Dev University organized induction ceremony for the newly admitted students of BHMCT and BTTM courses. Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Head of the Department welcomed newly admitted students and introduced them about the department.

            This interactive session was initiated by Dr. Bharat Kapoor, Assistant Professor with a keynote that threw light on Guru Nanak Dev University’s mission and vision. Further, He communicated the students about the different initiatives that the department will conduct in upcoming months.

            Mr. Tirtha Roy Chaudhary, HR Director, Hotel Hyatt Regency, Amritsar was chief guest on this occasion and presented an abridgement of the Hospitality industry and shared the growth that every performer of the industry has been experiencing post SARS-COV-2 crisis. He advised the students to reform their skills to meet the demand of hospitality sector. Additionally, He informed the beginners that now the job opportunities in this sector is at spire but there is a shortage of skilled players. He encouraged students to attain the expertise and knowledge to get the most mileage out of it.

            On this occasion, the tree plantation was done as an initiative to make tiny contribution in eco-friendly practices. Dr. Mandeep Kaur while addressing the students said that successful people are not gifted, they just work hard and then succeed on purpose.” In the end, Chef Harpreet Singh, Assistant Professor thanked the guests and concluded this affair by informing the students about rules and regulations of this esteemed university.
