Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit Hosts ‘At Home’

Chandigarh/ Patiala, August 19 (Jaswant S. Puri) –  The Punjab Governor and Administrator Union Territory  Chandigarh Shri Banwarilal Purohit played host to a galaxy of distinguished citizens of Punjab and Chandigarh at the ‘At Home’ in Punjab Raj Bhavan on Monday.

            The program began with the arrival of Governor at the venue at 5.00 PM. The Governor was given a ceremonial welcome by the Police band with the National Anthem played by it.

              The invitees from different walks of life converged at the Punjab Raj Bhavan which was tastefully decorated on the 75th Anniversary of Independence Day. The Governor greeted the guests present and exchanged pleasantries with them. Despite inclement weather the ‘At Home’ ceremony was well attended.

                Prominent amongst guests present were Governor Haryana Mr. Bhandaru Dattatreya, Chief Minister  Haryana Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Bhagwant Mann, Mr. Raghav Chaddha Member Parliament, Ms Sarabjit Kaur Mayor,  Mr. Anoop Gupta Deputy Mayor,  Ministers from Punjab Cabinet, senior bureaucrats and police officers from Punjab and Chandigarh including Chief Secretary Punjab Mr. V.K Janjua, Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr. J.M Balamurugan, Adviser U.T Mr. Dharampal, DGP Punjab, Mr. Gaurav Yadav, Mr. Parveer Ranjan DGP Chandigarh.

                  There was a noticeable presence of officers from Western Command, Chandimandir. Several academicians and intellectuals including the Vice Chancellors of various Universities, Chairmans of various Boards, Corporations and Academies were also present on the occasion.

               Among others present were Mr. Satyapal Jain, Additional Solicitor Attorney General, Government of India, Ms Harinder Kaur Regional Director, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports NSS and Mr. Furqan Khan Director NZCC. Mr. Arun Sood President BJP Chandigarh, Mr. Sanjay Tandon Ex-President BJP Chandigarh.
