Panther Division Raising Day celebrated

Amritsar, October 2 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Panther Division celebrated its 58th Raising Day. The Division was raised at Clement Town Dehradun on 01 Oct 1964, under World War-II veteran, Maj Gen Niranjan Prasad and became fully operational in Mar 1965.  History of Panther Divsion is a saga of valour and gallantry, replete with heroic deeds of unparalleled courage and supreme sacrifices. The division achieved battle glories in the fierce Battle of Dograi in 1965 Indo – Pak War and in the Battle of Dera Baba Nanak as well as Fatehpur Burj in 1971 Indo – Pak War

A “Wreath Laying Ceremony’’ was organised on Oct 1, 2022 at Panther Inspirational Park to pay homage to the Martyrs who laid down their lives for the country.  The day was also dedicated to pay tributes to our brave hearts and veterans who have nurtured this Division with their unflinching devotion and sacrifice.

Panther Division has excelled in all its endeavors’ and re-dedicated itself to strive for living upto the spirit, ethos and the highest traditions of the Indian Army.
