Chief of Army Staff Indian Army General Manoj Pande pays obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib

Amritsar, June 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Indian Army, General Manoj Pande today paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. General Pande was accompanied by his wife Smt. Archana Pande and Brigadier CBK Banerjee.
On his visit to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, General Pande was apprised about Maryada (conduct) of this Sikh shrine, Sikh traditions and the history of the shrines located here by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) assistant secretary Shahbaz Singh and information officer Amritpal Singh. He listened to Gurbani Kirtan for some time and also paid obeisance at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Meanwhile, the COAS General Manoj Pande was jointly honoured by SGPC members Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Harjap Singh Sultanwind, OSD of SGPC President Satbir Singh Dhami and manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Satnam Singh Mangasarai, with a model of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, shawl and religious books. On this occasion, SGPC member Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka drew the attention of the COAS to some Sikh issues.

The COAS General Manoj Pande recorded his feelings in the visitor’s book as, “Singularly blessed and privileged to pay obeisance at the Harmandir Sahib and take the blessings of the Almighty. Pray to Waheguru Ji to bestow good health and happiness to all ranks of the Indian Army.”

On this occasion SGPC spokesperson Harbhajan Singh Vakta, Manager  Nishan Singh, Bikramjit Singh Jhangi, DCP Amritsar Parminder Singh Bhandal and information officer Jatinderpal Singh and others were present.
