The spirit of Teej came alive at Saroop Rani Government College for Women

Amritsar, August 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The spirit of Teej came alive at Saroop Rani Government College for Women with a vibrant celebration that brought students and faculty members together in a harmonious display of cultural pride.

The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to the esteemed chief guest MLA Prof. Baljinder Kaur, who has been working very hard in improving the state of education and healthcare in Punjab. The participants adorned in traditional attire danced to the rhythm of traditional folk music. The vibrant and richly hued outfits added a stunning visual dimension to the celebrations. The graceful moves of the Gidha, a traditional Punjabi dance, captivated the audience, while the energetic folk dance performances added an element of exuberance to the festivities. The artistry of mehndi (henna) application was on display as students and faculty adorned their hands with intricate designs.

The aroma of traditional delicacies like Kheer and Malpura wafted through the air.  Prof (Dr.) Daljit kaur, esteemed Principal took the stage to address the gathered students, teachers, and guests. In a heartfelt speech, she emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage and commended the participants for their dedication in making the event a resounding success. “Teej is a time for us to come together as a community, to celebrate our traditions, and to remember the values that bind us,”

The event not only showcased the rich cultural diversity within the college.
