Amritsar, 29 March (Punjab Post) – Red Cross Unit of BBK DAV College for Women organised a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Red Cross Society of Amritsar and the Knowledge Villa Integrated Education and Welfare Society Blood Centre. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the college community, aiming to promote the noble cause of voluntary blood donation as well as to highlight its role in saving precious human lives. During the camp, 15 units of blood were collected among which the donors were: eight students, five teachers, and two members of the non-teaching staff. They displayed a commendable spirit of social responsibility and humanitarian concern. Also, the medical team from the blood centre ensured proper screening, hygiene, and safety protocols throughout the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia appreciated the donors for their generous contribution and remarked that such initiatives instill values of compassion, service, and social commitment among students. Further, she emphasised that voluntary blood donation is one of the most significant ways to serve humanity and also encouraged more students and staff members to participate in such humanitarian causes in the future as well.
Sudarshan Kapoor Chairman Local Advisory Committee, Dr. Anita Narendra Dean Community Development Initiatives, Dr. Priyanka Bassi Nodal Officer Youth Welfare along with NSS volunteers and NCC cadets, were present on this occasion.
