Flight Lieutenant Rishab Jeet Kaur Runs Kargil to Kohima Ultra-Marathon- “Glory Run”

Amritsar, Oct. 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Flight Lieutenant Rishab Jeet Kaur of Indian Air Force is the only woman PUNJ0510201916team member who is running the ‘K2K’ – Kargil to Kohima Ultra Marathon along with 24 male team members.  She was pick of all female school children and ladies of Air Force Station Amritsar Cantt during the flag off ceremony of K2K Ultra Marathaon resumption on 4th Oct 2019.  Mrs. Jyotsna Kumar President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (L) was also present  on the occasion to encourage the Runners and the woman participant in particular.

            Rishab Jeet Kaur has been selected after regressive selection trials by Indian Air Force for this prestigious event.

            Rishab Jeet Kaur was born and brought up in Patiala.  After her schooling from Modern Senior Secondary School Patiala and she graduated in engineering from Thapar University Patiala.  She was commissioned in IAF on 4th January 2016 in Aeronautical Engineering Branch.  She says ‘Running is my passion and I have been running in various half marathon events during last four years’.  She is an avid sports person and has been participating in various sports like Kho-Kho, Gymnastics, athletics and Karate. She has won Bronze Medal in Karate at National level.

            She says I am running for the Martyrs of the Nation and Women Power in special.  Rishab Jeet spoke to school children and encouraged them to participate in sports and take encouragement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.’
