Khalsa College of Pharmacy installs Disinfection Tunnel for Visitors and Staff

Amritsar, May 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In a major initiative to fight the Covid-19, Khalsa College of Pharmacy (KCP) today installed a Disinfection Tunnel for visitors to the campus. The automatic spray of the WHO-specified infectants takes place the movement a person pass through the tunnel and then he or she is safe to interact inside the campus, said Principal Dr. RK Dhawan.

            Dr. Dhawan said as per directions from Khalsa College Charitable Society (KCCS), the tunnel was installed to ward off the Coronavirus infections. He said the campus has already been sanitized and daily precautions are taken even though the teaching is suspended.

            `The select staff arrives for the official work as the offices are partially opened. The visitors are thus mandatory to pass through the tunnel”, said he adding that the sanitizers and other disinfectants are also being used as precautionary measures on the campus.

            The tunnel he said is locally made at lower cost and is built as per the guidelines of the State, Union governments and WHO. “This tunnel supplement the hand washing, using of the sanitizers, wearing of masks and social distancing”, said Dr.Dhawan recommending that in the current scenario the automation of hygiene and safety procedures needed to be followed as per government directions.

            KCCS honouarry secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina meanwhile stated that every measure has been taken to protect staff and visitors from Coronavirus. The Society has donated in cash and kinds to the tune of over Rs.20 lakhs in the past two months for the public welfare and social cause.

            “If the need arise, we will take more such measures for protection from Covid-19 infections”, said Chhina adding that all the 19 educational institutions under the KCCS are taking precautionary measures against the deadly Coronavirus disease.
