3rd Intl. Webinar on “Refurbishing of Operation: Tourism and Hospitality during Covid-19” organized

Amritsar, August 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Department of Tourism and Hospitality of Guru Nanak Dev University organized 3^rdInternational Webinar on “Refurbishing of Operation: Tourism and Hospitality during Covid-19”. The Webinar was conducted on Google meet platform. The Resource Person of the International Webinar was Mr. Gulshan Gathania, Food & Beverage Manager, IBIS Hotel Gurugram.

                   The International Webinar was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Mandeep Kaur, Professor Incharge, Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Guru Nanak Dev University. Mr. Gulshan Gathania, subject expert explained the current trends of Hotel Industry, especially for Food & Beverage service under COVID-19 situation.  He explained the safety precautions, use of booklets for guests, and use of magnetic card instead of using bio-metric for employees.He described that the menu is presented through the scanning of QR codes.Only 50% covers are used in Food & Beverage outlets to maintain social distancing and the payment is made through the online system.

                 This International Webinar was attended by participants from various institutions from India and Abroad. In the Question Answer session, Resource Person handled the queries raised by participants.  During the valedictory session, Chef Harpreet Singh expressed his view on the International Webinar and thanked the resource person and all other participants.
