Kapurthala Jaspreet Singh Sidhu today presided over the meeting of District level coordination and vigilence committee to check stubble burning, in which they urged the farmers to avoid stubble burning as it would be more harmfull than previous years due to the problem in breathing to the covid patients.
Today in the maiden meeting Deputy Commissioner said that the teams have been constituted at the every 20 village level besides using the remote sensing to check the stubble burning in the district.
She said that a district level control room has been established at the chief agriculture office where people would be able to file the complaint regarding that. The mobile numbers are also issued in the public domain which are 79730-51480, CAO 98761-27512 and AO Kapurthala have 88720-07524 .
Meanwhile SSP Kapurthala said that the police would provide all kind of assistance to the civil and PPCB officials to stop the farmers from this anti environment activity and to implement that at bottom level necessary institutions have been issued at the police station level.
Deputy Commissioner also said that as per the orders of NGT, heavy penalities would be imposed on the combines running without having super SMS facility, ranging from Rs. 50 thousand to one lakh.
Prominent amongst present in the meeting included SP Mandeep Singh, SDM Varinderpal Singh Bajwa, Dr. Nazar singh CAO, Lakhwinder singh DDPO and officials from PPCB.
