Amritsar, February 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A virtual Alumni Meet was organized by Khalsa College Engineering
and Technology (KCET) to forge a connect with the erstwhile students of the College, settled in various parts of the country and abroad. Over 500 students joined and they shared their past experiences and challenges during the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. Some students joined from Germany, Australia and Canada and shared their views on the diverse topics.
As they wished their alma mater they thanked the Khalsa College management for the initiative to start such Alumni meeting. KCET Director, Dr. Manju Bala said that these kinds of meets show the concern of institutions towards the students and develop the feeling of belongingness amongst the alumni. She earlier welcomed all alumni and expressed her happiness on the overwhelming response from the alumni all over the world. She made them aware about the changes and developments in the College campus then and now.
She appreciated the alumni holding the key positions in various multinational companies like Google, Oracle, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, L & T and many more and urged the alumni to contribute in enhancing knowledge and skill domains of currents students by conducting guest lectures, webinars, seminars. Also, she recognized the continuous contributions and efforts being done by them for the development of society and justifying the years spent by them at Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology.
There were also various exuberant performances including dancing and singing by the alumni themselves which made the event more colorful. Also important highlights and activities of the college were shared amongst the alumni. Election for the office bearers of the Alumni Association in which Kawalpreet Singh Judge was elected as the President and Rupinder Singh was elected as vice-president of the association. While Bhupinder Singh was elected as General Secretary, Rupinder Kaur was elected as Finance Secretary. The event was culminated with the vote of thanks by Dr. Mohinder Sangita Dean Academics. She thanked to all people involved in the successful conduct of the event. She requested the alumni to assure their presence and support to their alma mater in every possible manner.
