Bibi Jagir Kaur distributes Scholarship cheques to MA religious studies students

Amritsar, June 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Dharam Prachar Committee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee yesterday handed over cheques of annual scholarships to students pursuing Master of Arts (MA) in Religious Studies at the SGPC office.

                      The cheques were handed over by the SGPC Bibi Jagir Kaur, who was accompanied by the SGPC senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad, SGPC members Bibi Kiranjot Kaur, Bhai Ram Singh, Bawa Singh Gumanpura, and Bibi Gurpreet Kaur.

                    It is notable that SGPC had decided to provide Rs 24,000 per year scholarship to the students studying MA in religious studies. Under this 10 students of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) were given scholarships today.

                   While handing over the scholarships to the students, the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Sikh body SGPC has always been helpful in the education of the students studying in the field of religion and faith.

                   Bibi Jagir Kaur said that students pursuing MA in religious studies in various universities are given scholarships of Rs 24,000 per year and moreover, scholarships along with certificate are also given to the thousands of students through religious examinations.

               Bibi Jagir Kaur urged the scholarship recipient students to inspire others to pursue higher studies in the field of religion and faith.
