Amritsar, November 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – D.A.V Public school Lawrence Road observed Punjab Day with full
zeal and fervour. To commemorate the history and struggle of Punjab and its heroes, the students of the school conducted a special assembly. They informed about the history of Punjab. Punjab in its present form came into existence on November 1, 1966. Through well recited poems, they remembered the great warriors and freedom fighters with reverence. They also highlighted about the significance of this day and informed about the tragic partition of the state in which many innocent people lost their lives. In the end they took a pledge to always work for the welfare and progress of their prosperous state.
Regional office Punjab Zone-A Dr. Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Pushpinder Walia sent their best wishes to the students. They said that Punjabi literature has so much to offer, guide and inspire the youth of today.
Mrs. Anita Mehra Principal of the school while addressing the students advised them to tread on the right path and utilise their ingenuity to make the state a developed state in all facets.
