Admission for Boutique & Tailoring, Beautician, Computer Operator etc from 1st December
Amritsar, November 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Keeping in view the economic and social development of auto
rickshaw drivers, Amritsar Smart City has signed an MoU with All India Women’s Conference (AIWC) for skill development of female family members of auto rickshaw drivers under RAAHI Project. Giving more details about this, MCA Commissioner and CEO, Amritsar Smart City ltd. Malwinder Singh Jaggi said that, these courses are being started for the skill development of female family members of auto rickshaw drivers under the “RAAHI” (Rejuvenation of Auto-rickshaws in Amritsar through Holistic Intervention) project of CITIIS program being run by Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, French Development Agency (AFD), European Union and National Institute of Urban Affairs. Purpose of this skill development program is to provide livelihood training for females so that they can contribute to the economic development of their family by starting their own work or through a job. He said that the skill development program would be run in association with the recently formed Auto Rickshaw Cooperative Society in the city and these courses would be available for the females of society members only.
All these courses are free from All India Women’s Conference’s branch located near Sharifpura Chowk Amritsar Bus Stand. The fees will be paid by Amritsar Smart City. Admission to these courses can be done from December 1 for which the minimum age should be 18 years. Ms. Prem Duggal President AIWC said that courses in ladies boutique and tailoring, Beautician, Computer Operator and Fruit-Vegetable preservation are being available under the RAAHI project. Duration of these courses is for 6 months and all are ISO 9001 certified courses. Which will make them start their self-employment and they will also be able to find a job easily.
