SGPC Secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna retires from service

SGPC, Sikh Samprada’s, Kar Sewa & Sikh leaders honoured Bhurakohna

Amritsar, January 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna today retired after 35 years of service. He had joined the SGPC as a clerk in 1987 and during his service, he remained posted in different posts.

              Bhurakohna was honoured by head granthi of Sri Harmandar Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, SGPC secretary Mohinder Singh Ahli, Satbir Singh Dhami, Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale, Dal Baba Bidhi Chand Samprada head Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh, Baba Gajjan Singh Tarna Dal, SGPC officials and many prominent personalities.

               Addressing the gathering, Giani Jagtar Singh appreciated the managerial skills of Sukhdev Singh and urged the new employees to take inspiration from him. SGPC general secretary Karnail Singh Panjoli, Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh, Guru Nanak Dev University vice-chancellor S. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, SGPC member Bhai Manjit Singh Bhurakohna, Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Gurbachan Singh Karmuwala, Mohinder Singh Ahli, OSD Satbir Singh, Dr. Paramvir Singh of Punjabi University Patiala, Bibi Tejinder Kaur director education SGPC, Sikh scholar Dr Inderjit Singh Gogoani, Pratap Singh Study Circle, Lakhwinderpal Singh Judge also addressed the gathering and recalled the services offered by Bhurakohna. Meanwhile Bhurakohna thanked all the dignitaries.

              Earlier, honouring Bhurakohna at Secretariat Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh appreciated the services offered by him and wished him a bright future. Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said that one gets the chance to do service of the Guru’s house with good fortune as it gives an opportunity for family sustenance as well as to earn Sewa (service).

             A large number of prominent personalities and family members of Bhurakohna including his wife Bibi Sukhwinder Kaur, daughter Sandeep Kaur, son-in-law Navjot Singh, brother Gurcharan Singh and relatives were also present on this occasion.
