BBK DAV College for Women hosts State-Level Youth Red Cross Camp

Amritsar, October 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – BBK DAV College for Women hosted the State-level Youth Red Cross Camp organised by the Punjab State Red Cross in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, with the assistance of the District Red Cross Society, Amritsar. The two-day camp was organised in memory of Bhai Ghanayia Ji, whose life continues to inspire generations through his message of selfless service and compassion.

Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar MLA Amritsar South, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony. Mr. Samson Masih Secretary Red Cross Amritsar highlighted the importance of nurturing empathy and a spirit of service among students through Red Cross activities. Amarjit Singh Senior Field Officer State Red Cross Society Amritsar, and Shri Pyare Lal Seth Member Local Advisory Committee, were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia described the selfless service of Bhai Ghanayia Ji as an epitome of social service and emphasised the need to inculcate compassion, empathy and a spirit of service among the youth. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nijjar highlighted the inherent spirit of selfless service among Punjabis and urged the youth to value their heritage, culture and traditions while carrying forward the legacy of service and humanity.

The camp brought together participants for a range of activities aimed at fostering teamwork, social responsibility, creativity and humanitarian values. Students participated enthusiastically in various competitions, including Group Song, Group Dance, Folk Song, Quiz, First Aid and Poster Making.
