Amritsar, May 21 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Chief Khalsa Diwan International Nursing College, Chabhal Road organized a seminar on “Strengthening of health care delivery system in India: Nurses Perspective”. Which was dedicated to International nurses day 2016. This day is celebrated world over to commemorate the birth of “ Founder of Modern Nursing profession” Ms. Florence Nightingale who was born on 12th May 1820, in Italy and is also known as lady with lamp for her immense contribution towards the betterment of soldiers during Crimean war in nineteenth Century. The event was presided over by S. Charanjit Singh Chadha, President, CKDCS. Dr. Jai Singh, Civil Surgeon and Mrs. Sonali Giri, Commissioner MC, Amritsar were Chief Guest and Guest of Honor for the occasion respectively. The event was commened with formal welcome of the Guests by Dr. SS Walia, Member Incharge followed by the lightening of lamp. S. P S Sethi, Advisor of the college, described about history of college and Dr. Darshan Sohi, Principal, CKDINC threw light on the various achievements of the Institute. Dr. Santokh Singh, Chairman of the College, addressed the guests and delegates and talked about college’s requirements. President S. Charanjit Singh Chadha in his presidential speech on the day encouraged the young nurses follow the footsteps of Florence Nightingale to be dedicated nurses and also, he promised to fulfill all the dire requirements, which were pointed out by Dr. Santokh Singh. Dr. Jai Singh shared his expert views on current vital statistics in India and health care programs being implemented. Mrs. Sonali also talked about Florence Nightingale and congratulated the nurses on her birthday celebration and she also assured that the action will be undertaken by the Municipal Corporation regarding adjoining dump. Various experts including Dr. S S Deepti, Dr. Ravinderpal Singh, Dr. Bharti and Dr. Hardeep Kaur delved deep into the topic of the seminar through power point presentations. Principals of Nursing Colleges, who were present were honored by CKDCS. The event was wrapped up with a power packed Gidha Performance by beautiful girls of CKDINC.
