Amritsar, 24th June (Punjab Post Bureau) – Ramandeep Singh, former employee of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, who left his job in protest to the repeated incidents of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab joined Aam Aadmi Party today.

Ramandeep Singh joined AAP in the presence of AAP’s National Organization-Building head, Durgesh Pathak and Head Legal Cell AAP, Himmat Singh Shergil. Ramandeep belongs to village Goluchakk in district Amritsar and was serving SGPC for long time. He resigned from his job after raising slogans against SGPC Chief Avtar Singh Makkar when he was addressing a press conference at Darbar Sahib Complex. After joining AAP, Ramandeep Singh said, “Both Punjab government and SGPC are equally responsible for the desecration incidents happened in Punjab as neither SGPC could pressurize government to take action against those responsible nor Punjab government acted against them. A respected institution like SGPC has become mouthpiece of Badal family in last few years. During my job, I have seen widespread corruption in SGPC just like Punjab government.”  Ramandeep said that to change the face of society and to sweep out the corruption from Punjab, he has decided to join the party as a volunteer. Zone Incharge, Gurinder Singh and Zone observer Romi Bhati welcomed the decision of Ramandeep to join AAP.
