Amritsar, June 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Sub Zonal Unit, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Amritsar (Punjab) initiated and planed a huge awareness programme on “International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking “under supervision of Shri Sachin Gularya, Superintendent, NCB in consultation with Shri Vipin Singh, Commandant, 88 Bn, BSF at Wagha Boarder, Attari and the supervision of Dr. Kaustubh Sharma, IPS, Zonal Director, NCB, Chandigarh.
The general public visiting the beating retreat ceremony at this border location was made aware about the ill effect of DRUG ABUSE on individual, society, country and international community. Banners were displayed and pamphlets were distributed to the general public apart from an educated message “LISTEN FIRST, is an initiative to increase support for prevention of Drug Use that is based on science and is thus an effective investments in the well-being of Children and Youth, their families and their communities. Public and teenagers present there took pledge “I Swere Never To Indulge In Drug Abuse” by ShriSachin Gularya, Superintendent, NCB.Approximate 25,000 Indinans and 200 NRIs/Foreigners were present on the occasion at Wagha Border.
A Motor cycle rally to spread message against Drug Abuse was organized jointly by BSF 12th, BSF 164th BN and The Sub Zonal Unit, Narcotics Control BUrteau (NCB), Amritsar (Punjab). The rally was flagged off by Shri Dinesh Rajora, Commandant, 12th Bn BSF from BOP-CHAURA POST in Dera Baba Nanak Area at 08:00 Hrs on 26.06.2016. The rally after moving through various border villages reached the BatallianHqrs, ShikarMashi, Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdashpur, where the Commandant 164 Bn welcomed the rally.
An awareness and sensitization programme was organized at Jalliawalan Bagh, Amritsar by the staff of Sub Zonal Unit, Narcotics Control BUrteau (NCB), Amritsar (Punjab), in which people of different walks of LIFE visiting JalliawalanBagh were made aware, educated and briefed about the deadly effects Drug Menance from 10:00 Hrs to 13:00 Hrs.
A pledge programme was organized by the staff of Sub Zonal Unit, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Amritsar (Punjab) at Alfa One Mall, NH-01, Amritsar, in which general public especiallyteenagers were made aware and educated about the deadly effects Drug Menance from 10:00 Hrs to 13:00 Hrs. Public and teenagers present there took pledge “I Swere Never to Indulge in Drug Abuse”
