Army and Civil Administration felicitated Veterans

Amritsar, 26 August  (Punjab Post Bureau)  – Under the aegis of Vajra Corps a function was organized in village Allahdinpur, District Tarn Taran, jointly by the Indian Army Ghurki Brigade and the civil administration to felicitate the Veterans, Veer Naris and Widows of the village.        The function was presided over by Lt Gen JS Cheema, General Officer Commanding Vajra Corps alongwith Mr Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran. On the occasion Veer Naris were felicitated by Mrs Anupveer Kaur Cheema, Zonal President Vajra AWWA. Col (Retired) AS Chahal, Director Zila Sainik Welfare Board made all the Veterans of the District aware of the facilities available to them.

          Smt Gurcharan Kaur, 97 Years old wife of Sep Sulakhan Singh of 1 SIKH,  who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation in 1948 was also felicitated.  In addition, on behalf of Red Cross Society Tarn Taran, Lt Gen JS Cheema, distributed sewing machines to ladies and tricycle to the differently abled people of the village.
