
Amritsar, Nov 29 (Punjab Post Bureau)- DAV Public School, Lawrence Road grabbed First Position in the prestigious event promoting research and innovation amongst children, National Children Science Congress (NCSE) – 2016 which was held from November 26 – 28 , 2016 at Chitkara University. The main theme under which the participating schools had to showcase their projects was ‘Invention and Innovation in Science for Sustainable Development’. There were seven other sub themes under the main theme. DAV Public School participated under the Sub theme ‘Natural Resources and Management’ and presented their much researched project ‘Revolution by Evolution – Bioplastics’. As many as 121 schools from all over India participated in it. The school qualified for the National Level round after competing at the District level. The school team comprised of Arshiya Gupta, Bhavya Pahwa, Sumegha Sehgal, Rishika Sharma , Soumya Khanna , Vrinda Tanyal and Pranit Bhadwar from Std X . The school team was highly praised by the judges for their unique idea and presentation.
Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school , Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Principal DAV College Amritsar were overwhelmed at the brilliant achievement of the students. They praised the students for their passion to explore new avenues and encouraged them to achieve greater heights. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school expressed her joy at the success of the students. She said it was the need of the hour to recycle and re –use if we wanted to save our planet. She applauded the students for their interest in research and for coming up with new ideas. She said that it was a big win for them and just the beginning to realise their dreams.
